Shri. Venkataraman has been teaching yoga for over 42 years. He is the founder of the Patanjali Yoga and Healing Centre and Patanjali Ramana Trust in Chennai, India. He has been conferred the “Yoga Shiromany” for his dedication and service to yoga. He formally practiced yoga at the Annamalai University. For Shri Venkatraman, yoga is a way of life rather than a practice or an exercise. He specializes in Therapeutic yoga and is credited with solving complicated medical conditions through yoga. He has cured hundreds of patients with chronic illnesses (e.g. heart block, disc prolapse, lung congestion etc.) and is often called upon to guide patients on seemingly unsolvable medical issues related to the mind and body.

Shrimathi. R. V. Mahalakshmi has been teaching yoga for over 27 years. She is the founder of Patanjali yoga & healing center and Patanjali Ramana trust in Chennai. She was recognized with the “Yoga Shiromany” and “Yoga Rathana” for her committed and extensive services to Yoga and healing. Smt. R. V. Mahalakshmi formally learnt yoga at Annamalai University.She inspires and aims to bring a unique sense of empowerment to each of her classes. In her own words – “Through intention, meditation, pranayama and asana my goal is to have my students leave each class feeling refreshed and renewed.” She aims to live a yogic lifestyle and leads her classes in a way that reflects that choice.

Born in 1995 at Thiruvarur, she has been practicing yoga since the age of 5. Her interest towards nature and medical care led her to acquire a bachelor’s degree in Naturopathy and Yogic science (BNYS). Since then under the lens of her own curiosity and dedication she has evolved to help multiple people through her practice. With the help of Yoga and Naturopathy she has treated many cases like breech presentation during pregnancy, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), Diabetes mellitus, Hormonal disorders, cervical and lumbar spondylosis, obesity etc.

The Founder Dr. V. Surya Prakash started practicing yoga at the age of 5. He concentrated in spiritual studies during his early stages from various ashramams’ before establishing the renowned Agasti yoga ashramam in 2013 at Adyar, Chennai to practice yoga and healing therapy. Dr. Surya was conferred with great honors like “YOGA GURU”, “YOGA NIBUNAR” and the “YOGA KALAIMAMANI” for his dedicated and passionate service towards Yoga. Dr. Surya’s dedication towards Yoga and the aspiration to reach and include many other people to the divine Yoga journey led him break the boundaries of physical Yoga centers and go online with this website to help many other people from anywhere in the world. He nurtured ways to improve the yoga techniques that adapt to the modern lifestyle. While traditional yoga is spiritual based, contemporary yoga on the other hand focuses more on fitness. The Agasti Yoga Center grasps the fine differences between traditional and contemporary yoga and attempts to give a holistic experience.
